Ways to Stay Healthy and Cool in the Summer
With temperatures reaching an all-time high in the Summer, it’s important to follow a few rules in order to stay safe, hydrated and healthy. Follow these tips and stay healthy and cool all Summer long!
1. Stay Hydrated
Water, water, water!
There are so many yummy and healthy fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables in the Summer, so add them in your daily diet. Eat fruits/vegetables and drink fresh juices. Eating green vegetables improves immune defense and provides beneficial phytochemicals, as well as gives your body vitamins, minerals and fiber. Citrus fruits are a good source of Folate and Potassium, with small amounts of Magnesium, Calcium, and other nutrients. They are also rich in Fiber.
3. Eat Healthy
Avoid eating oily and fried foods, and carbonated drinks.
4. Frequent Showers
Did I even have to mention this one? I hope not!
5. Use Sunscreen
Protecting yourself from ultraviolet (UV) radiation is very important all year round, but especially in the summer! Don’t forget to use a daily moisturizer with SPF as well as sunblock when you’re going to the beach.
6. Summer Clothing
Wear loose cotton or light fabrics to keep cool.
